Back To Blogging and New MAC Lipsticks

It’s been a long time since I’ve written a  blog post. So much has happened, that there is so a lot I would to share with you! It feels great to be back and be able to share with you all more. I have learned so much, not just personally but believe it or not there is so much I learned fashion wise as well. My goal now is to inspire others (doesn’t mean I’m saying that they should do what I did), to be not only their true selves but that it’s okay to have fail at times.

As some of you might know, that I got married (its been about 2 years and a half) I’ve been busy with my married life and moving around the world. Which means now that not only will I be posting about my hobbies and interests, but also some social topics that focuses on marriage, family and friends. I will be posting on my blog daily, and I’m back on posting videos on YouTube.

Now let me go on and talk about the second topic, the new MAC lipsticks that I got. They were a gift from my husband for my birthday while we were in Dubai, He knows how much I LOVE MAC lipsticks! I went in and got 7 colours, 2 of them are a repurchase and the other 5 are totally new to me that I either have been eyeing for a long time or when I tried them in the store I fell in love with them and wanted them.

IMG_0013

As you can see all of these colours are in the “nude” or pink family expect for one that is red. From right to left:

  1. MOCHA, a satin finish,  this lipstick is  my 5th repurchase my ultimate favorite one coming right after KIND OF SEXY which I have 2 of each.
  2.  SEE SHEER, a luster finish, this colour caught my eye when I was in the store last time, to me it looked like a cooper-peachy colour that didn’t look rusty which made me want it.
  3. SNOB, a satin finish, a repurchase, this lipstick is what I call the perfect pink to go from day to night by just changing your eye makeup and it isn’t to Barbie.
  4. SHANGHAI SPICE, a cremesheen, to me I felt this is a glossy version to the KIND OF SEXY lipstick, which is why I orginally first bought it to apply it on top of it, but it does also look great on its own.
  5. TAUPE, a matte finish, this colour is one of those colours that has been all over the internet as one of the “in MAC lipsticks” right next to VELVET TEDDY thanks to Kylie Jenner. I tried VELVET TEDDY it just didn’t look great on me so that’s why I got  TAUPE its a good brown colour that doesn’t wash me out.
  6. RUSSIAN RED, a matte finish, you might have heard the saying “you’re either a RUBY WOO kind of girl or a RUSSIAN RED kind of girl” and I was always the RUBY WOO kind of girl, but know I want a red colour that is deep not bright and I feel RUSSIAN RED is the perfect lipstick to fall under that description.
  7. MEHR, a matte finish, another colour that has been out there that many fashionistas and makeup gurus have been talking about. I like this lipstick becuase its a dusty-rose pink that makes look youthful.
Swatches on my arm

From left to right, MEHR, RUSSIAN RED, TAUPE, SHANGHAI SPICE, SNOB, SEE SHEER and MOCHA.

Hope you enjoyed my blog post and look forward to my upcoming posts.

FABULOUS FREES from Style Boutique! My Makeup Look for the Grand Opening

A few days ago I wrote about Style Boutique and there Grand Opening (click here). The store was so adorable and cute and they had so many FABULOUS things, I was one of the lucky ones to have received free things! 😀

I even mentioned that I would share my makeup look that I wore that day. I like to call this look a VAMPY look just because of the harsh winged eyeliner with dark berry lips.  First I will show you how I achieved my makeup look then I will go on and show you all the GLAMROUS things I was given. Below you’ll find the pictures so keep on reading…

The Vampy Makeup Look:

photo (151)

Vampy I’d say

To get this look I used two eye-shadow pallets, the first one was the Too Faced “Matte Eye Shadow Collection” and the second one is the “Naked 2” Urban Decay pallet. I will go to explain the colours that I used and which brushed I used to apply them. First let me show you the pallets…

Too Faced Matte Eye Shadows pallet

The colours from top to bottom (left to right):

  • Tufted Suede (used it)
  • Chinchilla (used it)
  • Coffee Bean
  • Velveteen Bunny (used it)
  • Pebbles
  • London Fog
  • Fresh Linen
  • Vintage Violet
  • Midnight

The “Naked 2” pallet from Urban Decay has 12 colours, and out of those 12 I’ve used 3 colours for this look. In the picture bellow you will be able to see the swatch colours.

The Naked 2 pallet and the swatches below

The swatches from left to right:

  • Snakebite
  • Half baked
  • Foxy

For this look I used one of my favorite lipsticks that I tend to use for special or GLAMROUS occasions, and the Grand Opening of Style Boutique is a GLAMROUS EVENT.  That is why I had to take out my secret weapon MAC lipstick “What Joy!” satin finish. Sadly this colour was part of their Winter2012 limited edition line, luckily if you like this colour MAC had a lipstick called “Diva” that in their permit line that is close to it.

What Joy! lipstick from MAC

I just love the berryness (I know that isn’t a word) of this lipstick and it goes great with all skin tones!

I only applied bronzer to my face using MAC “Raizin” blush in matte finish. I didn’t use any pinks or peaches on the apples of my cheeks because the lipstick did the job and brought the colours out of my cheeks.

How to apply this makeup look:

  1. From the Too Faced pallet apply the colour Chinchilla all over your eyelids til your crease using the Sephora “all over shadow brush
  2. Just to the crease apply Coffee Bean from the Too Faced pallete and blend it out wards and lower lashes using the MAC 224 brush
  3. Using the MAC brush 217 apply Velveteen Bunny from the Too Faced pallet on to your brow bones
  4. Where the eye-shadows Chinchilla and Coffee Bean blend in Snakebite with the MAC 217 brush
  5. Right under your eyebrows apply Foxy from the Naked 2 pallet using the MAC  219 pencial brush
  6. With the same brush apply Half Baked to the inner corners of the eyes
  7. Then I applied my foundation, conceler and presspowder
  8. After that I applied the MAC blush Raizin to my cheek bones and softly blended it into the apples of my cheeks and forehead using Mikyajy Blusher Brush
  9. Lastly I applied the lipstick What Joy! on to my lips

Now lets us go to my second part of this blog post, the FABULOUS things that I got from Style Boutique. They are lovely and to die for, plus you have to go and check out their collection or you’ll be missing what’s new in fashion that’s FUN-FRESH and EDGY.

I LOVE this top and the details that is on the bottom. It’s so CUTE you can either dress it up or dress it down. Here I decided I was going to dress down because it was the morning and I was off to university. I wanted to keep it fun with and edgy which results it to be FUNKY! This is something totally new for me, but hey I am young I can do fashion “mistakes” and get away with it. 😀

The so AMAZING shopping on top and just the the FABULOUS items on the botoom! ❤

The Top!

In this picture I am wearing:

  • Top: Style Boutique
  • Balck under-top: Zara
  • Dark blue jeans: H&M
  • Shoes: Nike
  • Purple bag: Miu Miu

Valentine’s Day came and I wanted to wear something different. I didn’t want to wear any reds, pinks or whites I wanted to go on a different track. That is when I felt the need to go and be FABULOUS for this LOVE day and have fun and dress in the way that I love. After all I am a fashion lover so more than any other day I HAD TO show it on this day. How better to show my love for fashion than wearing this GLAMROUS gold and black blazer that was long at the back that has black chiffon. It was perfect! To check out more about my V-Day click here.

The GLAM Look

The GLAM Look

In this picture I am wearing:

  • Gold and black blazer: From Style Boutique
  • Black pants: H&M
  • Black top: Zara
  • Scarf: Zara
  • Black flats: Chanel

I had to go early into school because I had some things to do before I went into my class that morning. I just had so much to print out. The problem was that I didn’t have time to pick out what I wanted to wear the night before! So when I woke up that morning I was all over the place trying to get ready, I knew I wanted to wear my flats from Style Boutique but I wasn’t sure with what. Then I told myself my safest bet would be that I wear jeans because they mostly go with everything. At this point I would like to believe that I was right. 😀

Today’s FAB Makeup Looks <3

Makeup, clothes, bags and SHOES what can I say I am a madly and deeply IN LOVE with fashion. Fashion now falls under a lot of things, that incudes FOOD the way furnish your house and even the books you read (if you know me back in high school…then you know I was a BOOK WARM). Yes I said it books, books come in and go out of fashion but literature remains. Just like in fashion, fashion might come and go but style is forever! ❤

For the upcoming blog posts (the next 3 or 4) will be mostly about makeup. I will be showing and talking about how I applied the makeup and review some of them. Will let me tell you a little secret I LOVE MAKEUP as much as SHOES! That coming me from me is a HUGE thing. So promise me that is will be between you and I. :p

The other one is a FUN SPRING look that I hope you guys would enjoy. First I will show you what I was wearing yesterday then I will go more about the make. So stay tuned and keep on reading!

Give MAC (Holiday) Haul Christmas GIFT!!

Every so on MAC comes out with a limited edition line, and it it’s always been amazing! Every line is so unique and different from the other with their AMAZING designs and colour. For this season (holiday) they came out with a line that I think we haven’t seen them do before. To start with the line and the advertisement seems like it came out of Chanel or LV (I’m not saying that it did). The makeup compacts look like mine clutches and wallets that you can carry around with you that a high-class designer would have come up with. Well MAC is a high-end makeup brand with FABOULSE products. When I went online a saw the new collection my reaction was “I NEED TO HAVE SOME!” I showed my mum the products and she said she would get them as a Christmas gift and SHE DID YAY ME!! 😀

Just to point out, I haven’t used any of these products still (I got them yesterday). When I do I’ll for sure make another blog post about them and how I feel about them. I think I’m going to LOVE them. Yet still I have to wait and see.

The MAC products

FABULOUSNESS eye-shadow pallets

The first thing I couldn’t wait to get my hands on was the FABULOUSNESS eye-shadow pallets. In this line they have 3 pallets; FABULOUSNESS 5 Warm Eyes, FABULOUSNESS 5 Neutral Eyes and the one I got FABULOUSNESS 5 Smokey Eyes (I just LOVE smoky). The great thing about these pallets is that each pallet comes in different colours, the Warm one peach, Neutral mint-green and the Smokey one is pink <3. I wanted to get the “mint” one just because green is my favourite colour, but then I was like no I have so many neutral colours :p.  As you can see that each pallet has 5 colours.

FABULOUSNESS 5 Smokey Eyes

As I mentioned above, I just love their packaging for this collection. It’s SUPER cute, I’m already trying to come up with ideas on how I can use this compact when I run out the eye-shadow (that would be long time!). I love the soft-pink colour with the cute bow black bow (that’s removal). Plus all the colours are so CUTE and lovely I just can’t wait to try them out! Below you’ll find swatches of the eye-shadow and their names.

  • Taupeless (satin finish)

  • Black Slip (stain finish)

VIVA GLAM

Lip products

The Viva Glam collection for 2012 is staring Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin! The best thing about this line is that anything you purchase from it (there is only 3 products) would go to MAC Aids Fund to help those families that have been affected by Aids. That includes; men, women and children everywhere). MAC Aids Fund is a registered charity in the UK that helps all countries when needed. <3.

As I pointed out for this line MAC came out with 3 products and all of them are for lips. From this collection I got the “Viva Glam Nicki Lipstick” and the “Viva Glam Ricky Lip Conditioner. The only thing that I didn’t get was the “Viva Glam Nicky Lip-gloss” just because I don’t wear much lip-gloss to start with. With my purchase from this collection I got a free makeup bag that’s SO CUTE! It’s red-leopard print that I just LOVE.

Makeup bag, Lip conditioner and lipstick

Makeup bag, Lip conditioner and lipstick

Originally just wanted the lip conditioner from this collection, but then I saw that there was deal that if I got the lipstick with it, it would be cheaper. Plus I would get a CUTE makeup bag with it, and I really liked the colour. I can see Nicky Minaj wearing this colour it’s so here. I want to point out that the lip conditioner smells like vanilla (which I love), it’s so YUMMY (not for eating :p).

MAC Makeup Brushes

PERFECTLY PLUSH BRUSH KIT

This line is so cute, with the makeup brushes you get a matching makeup brush bag for the brushes (that was a MOUTH FULL!). From this line there are 3 kits; PERFECTLY PLUSH BRUSH KIT Mineralized (brushes and bag are peach), PERFECTLY PLUSH BRUSH KIT Advanced (brushes and bag pink) and the one I got PERFECTLY PLUSH BRUSH KIT Essential (brushes and bag mint-green). That’s one of the main reason I chose the Essential Kit is because it’s GREEN my FAVOURIT colour <3. However, I also needed good quality travel brushed so when I am traveling I could take them with me. The good thing about this kit is that it comes with 5 BRUSHES, where the other kits only have 4 brushes for the same price. The kit also has the main brushes that I need on a daily bases!

Makeup Review: Benefit

In one of earlier posts Makeup Products from Benefit I talked about some products I bought from Benefit, and as promised I am going to review them now! I know that I’ve posted about the around 2 months ago, but hey I had to TRY the products more than once. I had to see how I felt about them and how they worked under different climate, makeup and how long they would last. So yah I needed to experiment with them to come up with my view and experience with these products. Just to point out I have been using Benefit for almost 3 years, then again this was the first time I used these specific products. On another note, Benefit is one of my favourite makeup BRANDS!

The productst that I am reviewing:

You Rebel (Lite)

You Rebel is a tinted moisturiser that contains SPF 15. It moisturises the skin very well and I felt that my skin was hydrated all day, and I wore it for more than 9 hours. However, if you have red areas around your face it won’t cover them. I found that when I used any kind of press-powder with this tinted moisturiser it doesn’t look cakey.Just to point out this product has a undertone smell of rose-water, well for me it isn’t a problem but I know there are girls that don’t like the smell of rose-water. I  ACTUALLY LIKE IT!  For girls that are interested in this product, it only comes in two shades; the one above that is the lighter shade and the other is the darker shade that comes in a red tube. The darker shade is for people that are tanned or it could work as a fake tanner. Would I buy this product again? Well I am not sure, I would like to look around more for a tinted moisturiser that has more coverage.

Erase Paste

I AM MADLY IN LOVE WITH IS CONCEALER! Just as the name implies ERASE, it does erase any blemishes on the face. The blemishes can be from read areas, dark circles and pimples that are on the face or neck. I used this product with; foundation, tinted moisturiser or directly on my skin and it worked great.I even found out that you don’t need to use press-powder for this concealer to set it in it sets in very well without it. On the other hand if I was going to a party or something I do use press-powder just in case :P. This concealer comes in 3 different shades; fair, medium and deep. I use fair because I like how I can even use it under my eyes to brighten them. Another AMAZING thing is that this concealer comes with a spatula so you don’t have to dip your fingers in. This is a concealer would be used for years to come!

Girl Meets Pearl

I decided to try this highlighter because many have recommended it. I have tried the other highlighters from Benefit High Beam and Moon Beam, the High Beam just like Girl Meets Pearl it is a pinkish highlighter, whereas the Moon Beam is more of a golden apricot color. I personally found that the Girl Meets Peal is more shimmery than High Beam and it’s more liquidly. It took me sometime before I actually tried this product in different settings. I realized that if I applied press-powder I can’t apply this product on top of it, it just won’t set on my face. Another thing I found was that this highlighter works best went I applied cream-blushes, or if I applied this product first before applying the powder-blushes. It worked well when I used this product directly onto my face and that a little goes a long way. On the side, I’m still not sure if I would get this product again, I need to see how I truly feel about it.

They’re Real

I bought this mascara for two motives; first because this product was recommended to me by many of my FRIENDS and second I wanted to try a different mascara. You see I constantly have a budget on how much I spend on makeup (because if I didn’t I’d go WILD!) so when it came to buy the mascara I had to look at something that was pocket friendly to me :p. Plus I wanted to get a mascara that wasn’t to heavy on the lashes and that I could use it as my daily mascara. THIS DID THE JOB! I liked the colour and on how black it was and the formula was light on the lashes. It gave a very natural look but at the same time gave them HIGH volume and INCREDIBLE length. Would I buy this mascara again? OF COURSE!

If you want to know more about Benefit makeup and products (click here). They always come up with amazing and ceative ideas for makeup that you just don’t see in other makup brands.

Stay Lovely,

Makeup Products from Benefit

The other day I went to the mall to get a present for my mum’s birthday, a small gift for my dad and my friend wanted to do some shopping. What I need in a long sometime was some makeup, but I wanted some products that I haven’t tried that people have been talking about. Of course with the amount that I spent that day I had to keep a somewhat low budget for makeup! So I went into a makeup store and they had a Benefit counter, and that’s where I did my shopping. I only got 4 ITEMS!

The items above are the makeup that I bought. Starting from the left

  1. Tinted moisturizer called “YOU REBEL” in lite

Eye Lushes

As I mentioned in an earlier article “Henna Time!” I applied false eyelashes; it was one of the things I got pampered too. This is the second time that applied them, but last time they didn’t last long because I didn’t take care of them. For both of the times I got the service the eyelashes done at Beauty Image salon (the salon is not paying for these articles, I just like going there). It only took about 20 minutes to apply them and they last for 2 weeks if maintained properly. I like them they look very natural but still make a GREAT statement.

It’s like having mascra for 24/7 and you don’t get to feel them at all!

So what do you think about the eyelashes, did you ever get false eyelashes? For how long did they last?

Stay lovely,

N
